In 1991, Mother Teresa returned to her homeland and opened the home of the Missionary Brothers of Charity in Tirana, Albania.

Until 1996, Mother Teresa worked in 516 missions in more than 100 countries around the world. Mother Teresa’s Missionaries of Charity expanded from 12 to thousands of people serving in 450 centers around the world.
